     Our cottages and cabin are conveniently located in the village of Bernard,  which is between Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor, on the ocean, on the southwest side of the island.  It is in this very village that the first "rusticators" discovered and made their vacation destination on Mount Desert Island in the 1800's.  Here at  Parsons, our property commands a huge beach and wide open views, just what vacationers were seeking then and still do today --   The beach can be enjoyed for sunbathing, swimming or taking walks and finding sand dollars and baby crabs between tides and allows guests to enjoy watching daily water activities of lobster boats, sail boats and the Ferry that pass by our property throughout the day..... either on the beach or from one of the cottages.  Guest may also launch a kayak and paddle around on calm days in our waters.    In the evening, beautiful sunsets ease guests into a relaxing evening at their cottage or perhaps a night out for dinner and activities.   Some guests discover along the shoreline of granite rocks and ledges near our beach one of the greatest historical markings of one of the earliest settlers, Bernard, and the village's namesake to this magical part of Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park.
